Sustainability at Nana Mountain Resort

At Nana Mountain Resort, we believe we are only visitors here — the mountains belong to themselves. Every decision we make is guided by a simple promise: to care for nature, support local communities, and offer our guests an experience that is both meaningful and responsible.

 Energy

Our resort is designed to reduce energy use and embrace cleaner alternatives. From solar-powered backup systems and efficient heat pumps to LED lighting across the property, we’re building a lighter footprint. EV charging ports are available for guests, with fast-charging stations on the way.

 Water

High in the hills, water is precious. We capture rainwater, filter greywater naturally through reed-bed wetlands, and return it to the land through our biodiversity pond. Refillable water stations reduce single-use plastics, and we encourage guests to join us in conserving every drop.

 Waste

What comes from the earth should return to it. Organic kitchen waste is composted, while recyclables are sorted and sent to partners. We’re working toward tracking all of our waste to ensure nothing is left unmanaged.

 Community

The resort is as much about people as it is about place. We hire locally, work with village suppliers, and partner with guides and wellness instructors from the region. By spending the majority of our resources within the local economy, we help communities thrive alongside us.

Culture & Design

From menus that highlight seasonal Nepali produce to design details crafted with local materials, our spaces are built to reflect the culture of the mountains. Guests can join cultural walks, cooking classes, and performances that celebrate the spirit of Dhampus.

Our Path Ahead

By 2027, Nana Mountain Resort aims to achieve internationally recognized sustainability certification. More than a checklist, this is our commitment to keep improving — protecting the mountains we call home, and ensuring future generations can experience their beauty.
